Hi,

will like to find out the difference between
1) alter database backup controlfile to c:\userdata\controlbk.ctl
2) alter database backup controlfile to trace

What the importance of running the above ?
In what situation we need to make use of them ?
What is the difference between 1) and 2) ?

Thanks in advance for your sharing.

Regards

No, there are several questions answered in several books.
SQL Reference, Database Concepts, Administration Guide, Backup & Recovery Reference.

But maybe if you put "backup controlfile" in the search field you will go to the appropriate sections to read.

Michel
