I shutdown Oracle from the svmgrl utility.
The following commands were issued:
svrmgr> connect internal/oracle
svrmgr> shutdown

Later I went to to do a startup mount and was told that Oracle is not available.
svrmgr> startup mount exclusive
svrmgr> Oracle not available.

How do I startup Oracle once I shut it down from svrmgrl? I could no longer connect to my instance.

Thank you in advance.

the massege you got: 'oracle not available' may be caused by:
you shutdown oracle normally!

but there is still some transaction hanging up or there may be a user haven't normally logoff.so you can't start the oracle becuase the instance hasn't finished shutting down.

if you shutdown by immediate method, the problem wouldn't happen.
