Hi,

I am investigating on the oracle 11g features which leverages the features of Multi-core architectures. Can you please give me some articles/papers/web-links which at least gives an introductory aspects of this.

Do you have some ideas about oracle features which oracle has provided for DB performance on multicore architectures.

Hi Franx

Thanks for reply

The link you have given contains a ocean of information. What i was looking is specific articles/weblinks/papers that captures relevant information of oracle 11g features for multi-core processors.

Can you give me some specific links.

We can't really give a specific link for a un-specific question.

How are we supposed to know what's "relevant" to you?

How is this different from Oracle determining the number of CPUs in current system?

okk
so lets not make any confusion ... what I am looking is below

1. How the performance of oracle 11g will differ when we have that DB configured on a SingleCore m/c Vs Multicore M/C ?

2. Does Oracle provides any special handling to tune its performance on a multi-core system; if yes, do you have any idea how it is done?

3. Do we have any programming model exposed by oracle or any other vendor where we can embedded the Sql query in a traditional threading code. I think we can do threading programming (POSIX or OPENMP) with SQL queries in ProC. But not very sure.

I have tried to illustrate at a high level what I am looking for, still if you feel more discussions/details are required, your suggestions/comments are welcome.

From what I have observed, Oracle does not treat differently multiple CPUs or multiple cores.

If you have evidence to the contrary, please post it.
