I came across this post for jdbc connections for RAC
http://blogs.oracle.com/theshortenspot/2009/04/advanced_oracle_jdbc_connectio.html

The link mentions patch to be applied for jdbc connectivity.
However, i dint understand it completely.

Currently my application is using jdbc url string with vips, failover, load balance etc configured properly.

failover and load balancing is working fine.
there are no issues regarding database connectivity.

Is it critical to apply the patch mentioned?

What's your problem/Question?

Do you want JDBC Details ? Or Database Patch Details ?

Thanks

jdbc connection is working perfectly with failover, load balance options,,,,no problems at all

question is

is it still necessary to apply the patch??
(even though all is working fine)
will it have any benefits?
