Migrated forms very slow [message #437576]

hi frnds

i have migrated some forms from 6i to 10g but the forms are very slow...almost hanging(though no errors) ...can u please suggest me how can i make them run faster...as it is a real time application and need to be faster

Were you running Forms 6 in client-server or 3-tier mode?

What have you changed in your configuration other than the version of Forms?

we were running in 3 tier mode...database was on our application server....the application was on another remote server and client accessed it via remote server

i just migrated the forms and rectified some compilation errors that came...

i didnot make any configuration changes

I assume that you also went to AS 10 and DB 10 in which case your hardware is probably too small. Increase the application server memory by a factor of three and try again.

okee thxs...

also the system ahs so many JPEG images(actually it was designed by some1 else in 6i) and i migrated it
so do u think too many images slowed it ?

Please confirm your configuration! Are you using 10 DB and 10 AS?

Perhaps you should consider separating Application Server from Database Server, i.e. use two computers (instead of installing both on the same computer).
