Hi,

I am planning to install RHEL 4.0 on my server. I would like to have some info before i proceed :

1) What should be the kernal parameters. Should i leave them as default or does the values depend on server configuration.

2) need a link for step by step guide for installation.

3) I need to install oracle 10g on this server.

Best Regards,

Sorry, we are not standing behind you.
We don't know what you have.
We don't know what you do.
We don't know what you see.
It is really, really, REALLY difficult to fix a problem that can not be seen.

>I am installing on SATA harddrive. Does it support linux?
My system as SATA drive & so do others.
Perhaps you should post in/on a forum dedicated to YOUR problem.
Your problem has NOTHING to do with Oracle RDBMS.

hhtp?

I don't think that it was deliberately. So, just to fix an invalid link - Michel probably wanted to point to http://tahiti.oracle.com/

However, I guess (just as Bleksvan /forum/fa/3390/0/ suggests) that it is not about installing Oracle on Linux, but installing Linux (as an operating system) itself.

Download the Linux client not the Windows one.
