Hi Everyone,

I am trying to open netca in redhat linux from command line

$netca..

java.lang exeception error occured..

I googled it ,found it like xclock must work before netca to work,

i set DISPLAY Env variable as:export DISPLAY=linux:0.0

$xclock....gives me the error
Can't Open Display for linux:0.0

How to get rid of this error..?
Please help

Are you sure the DISPLAY value is correct?
Use the "xhost" command to allow the X display on your PC from your database server.

My Hostname is:linux
From root user i did:$xhost +linux
linux have been added to access list
$export DISPLAY=linux:0.0
$echo $DISPLAY
linux:0.0
$xclock

Cant Open Display for linux:0.0 error

sorry for my mistake,
after xhost ,i login as oracle user and repeat the stepa mentined above

Does your /etc/hosts contains this alias for your PC?

Hi Michel,
Issue is not solved ,my hostname id linux and I made an entry already in /etc/hosts file as
192.168.1.7 linux linux

It looks everything is fine but unable to open the GUI window t oconfigure netca.

please help..?

You should post this in a Linux forum, you will have a better chance to get an answer.
Once xclock will work, if you still have a problem then you can come back here.
