After installed Oracle8.1.7 on Solaris 8(SPARC)£¬I use svrmgrl to test database,but It's error.

%svrmgrl
SVRMGR>connect internal
Connected
SVRMGR>shutdown abort
ORACLE instance shutdown.
SVRMGR>startup
ORA-03113:end-of-line on communication channel

by the way,I use sqlplus to test,but error also exist.

%sqlplus
Enter user-name:system
Enter user-password:manager
ORA-01034£ºORACLE not available
ORA-27101: Shared memory realm does not exist
SVR4 Error:2: No such file or directory

who can tell me why.

Why are you doing 'shutdown abort' ? (unless you had to).

I would suggest, do a clean shutdown 'shutdown immediate'. See if you get the same error.
