Hi,

After I installed 9i on win2k and try to import a dmp to 8.1.7 database, I got this error message along with:
IMP-00003: ORACLE error 942 encountered
ORA-00942: table or view does not exist
IMP-00023: Import views not installed, please notify your DBA
IMP-00000: Import terminated unsuccessfully

Does anybody know how to fix it?

Run $ORACLE_HOME/rdbms/admin/catexp.sql as SYS on the 8i database. If the problem persists it is because you are going down to an older database. Run export from the 8.1.7 code tree against the 9i database then import to 8i, i.e., exp system/manager@9idbalias.
