Hi,
While taking Hot backups , What operating system Utlitity are we using to take tablespace back ups.

To have hot backup, the database must be in archivemode. Below is steps to start backup

1. Using ALTER TABLESPACE name START BACKUP; to start backup.
2. Start to backup datafile for this tablespace with OS copy command.
3. Using ALTER TABLESPACE name STOP BACKUP; to stop backup.
