we installed the oralce8.1.7 on linux radhat7.2.
installation was terminated successfully.when i start oracle from svrmgrl by internal in either mount/open/force then it gives the following error.
ora-01195 error reading password file '/u01/app/product/8.1.7/dbs/orapw'

please do as soon as possible bcz my work has been got stuck and if it does not happpen then i have to install it again.
if possible tell me how to start enterprizes mananger in linux also.

Hi,
you do not ora password file.
Two solutions:
1) comment out this line from init$ORACLE_SID.ora:
"remote_login_passwordfile = exclusive"
should read
"# remote_login_passwordfile = exclusive"

2) create ora pasword file (PREFERED).
Login as oracle and do this:
"orapwd file=$ORACLE_HOME/dbs/orapw$ORACLE_SID password=kernel"

Then you should be able to startup database.
