Hi,

I am facing problem in export/import. I am trying to export tables from one database (Oracle 8.1.7) and importing the same in another one (Oracle 8.1.6). When I go for individual table export-import it works fine, but when I go for full schema export-import or full database export-import, the error message is showing below at the time of importing.

"Import done in US7ASCII Character set and US7ASCII NCHAR.
IMP-00069 : Could not convert to environment national character set's handle".

I checked both databases and both are in same characterset ie US7ASCII.

Can enybody help me on this regard please?

You are going to a lower version you need to use the 8.1.6 export on the 8.1.7 DB.

On the 8.1.6 DB:

exp system/manager@8.1.7_tnsalias ...
imp ...

The tns alias must be in your tnsnames.ora file.
