hy,
I would like to export a database from SQL Server to Oracle 8i.
I use the export wizard of SQL Server because I didn't manage to use the import wizard from Oracle.
The problem is that I have the following error when I test the connection:

Test conection failled because of an error in initializing provider. ORA-12154 : TNS :could not resolve service name.

What is strange is that I can export in an other Oracle database and not in this one.
The one on which I work has just been created and I wanted to fill it with the export but...
I have searched in the configuration programs from Oracle but nothing worked so if you have an idea, it would be great.

Thanks

I looks like you need to add a tns alias in your tnsnames.ora file.
