requirment of rollback tablespace or segments in 9i [message #70875]

IS it required or must to create rollback tablespace and segemnts in case when i am migrating from oracle8i to oracke9i.Because oracle9i supports undo tablespace.

I think you must have rollback segment in your oracle8i database, because the rollback segments are automatically created by 9i according to your init.ora configuration, but while migration from the 8i to 9i there must be rollback segment because of the nature of the 8i
