When i tried to import a .dmp file an error message came up as "IMP-00038: Could not convert to environment charater set's handle". The export was done using Oracle 7.x, i am not sure which version. i tried importing using Oracle 8.1.7.0.0 version. kindly let me know why this problem is occuring.

Beacuse the environment character in the Oracle 7.x
is not the same as that in the Oracle 8i
