Hi guys.
I posted a topic the other day about an error I was getting and Sunil had said to use my database name as my sid. My only question is how can I find out what my database name is. I didn't install oracle onto my computer. My school did it for us so I have no clue as to what they may have named the database. Please help. An interviewer wants to see a few of my projects(all of which are using oracle)Friday morning and I'm getting very nervous I may be going to his office empty handed. Thanks.

Hi,

If you have DBA rights or login as user:system/manager,

Select * from v$databases;

it will list the database names.

Actually, I can't do that.
The error I'm getting(ORA-12560: TNS Protocol Adaptor Error) won't allow me to sign in.
Is there any other way to find out the database name?
