Hi

I am trying to create a new database. I have all the scripts ready to be run in sqlplus. Now the problem is when I log into sqlplus as 'internal' I get the error message ora- 01031 insufficient privileges
and when I log using 'sys as sysdba' the error message I get is ora- 01034 oracle not available.

For your information I have set the oracle_sid and oracle_home with the right value.

Can anyone please help me here, it is very urgent.

Many thanks for your time in advance
regards

I guess this is a new installation of oracle? If so make sure you set the semmns value in /etc/system to a value higher than 600 or so.
