I backed up the entire directory containing the database using Veritas BackupExec 8.6. After backing it up with the LOCK clause of BakcupExec activated, the problem is the database is no longer accessible.
Error I got was ORA01033: ORACLE initialization or shutdown in progress. I am using Oracle 9i (9.0.1) on w2000 server.
How can I unlock the database?
Please help.

1. do a clean reboot of the system.
2. look if the oracle services are started..asusual..
3. else start the services manually...from svrmgrl
4. if you get errors in svrmgrl, the look for issues
with ORACLE_SID
