Mahesh,
In fact without trying the column object thing that you showed in your last email the problem still remains in the original form of my control file if the lengths of varchars matches (the error was in my email and not in the problem but well spotted anyway).
I am *STILL* left with original problem however and before I change all the VARRAY types in my database I need to know how you can load the data as stated in my first email - I think that it can't be done if I leave the Strings variable as a VARRAY OF VARCHAR2.
I cannot use the column object clause in the control file as I am not using an Oracle object type within a VARRAY collection type.
