Hi

I have Oracle on Sun Solaris server.Daily basis i am taking backup of database directly into the dat drive.
When I am trying to read that dump file from the dat drive, i am unable to read that one.But If i take backup into the hard disk first and copy it to the dat drive then i am able to read that file from the dat drive. So how can i read that file from the dat drive, if i take backup directly into that drive.

Thanks in adv.

Regards,

Subir

Try to make a link to the device.

For example, make a link :

ln -s /dev/st0 input.dmp

In the imp or exp command, use file=input.dmp

Good luck
