I shutdown the oracle and take a cold backup of the database.For this I am checking whether ORACLE is running by logging into sqlplus. I am getting
Message file sp1<lang>.msb not found
Error 6 initializing SQL*Plus "
I checked all the PAth and env varibles are set properly and sp1us.msb file has read options.
Can u please help me in finding the reason for the error.

something is definatly wrong with the PATH.
make sure u ahve $ORACLE_HOME,$ORACLE_BASE in ur $PATH
