OMS service not starting in windows 2000 [message #72589]

When i try to start the OMS service from the services ( i am using windows 2000) it gives the following error

could not start oracle management server service on Local computer Error: 1053 the service did not respond to the start or the control request in a timely fashion

Does anyone have any idea about what does this error means?

yes i did and only after that i could see this OMS service in the services place....

Check:
1 - If the Repository's database is open
2 - If even with this message the service is running. Try to connect to the server (the oem server's machine name, not database) and the default login sysman/oem_temp

Another option you have is trying to start oms with the following command:

oemctl start oms

from Command prompt.

Can you send-me the errorlog?

Hi...
1. The repositary database is open....I created a new database and a new repositary and enen then i am getting the same error
2. I tried logging in but it gives error ...
3. I had tried using command prompt to start OMs but that is also not working

About the errorlog where do i find that?

The Errorlog is located on
ORAHOMEsysmanlog

Run the command oemctl start oms and send-me the output screen too.
