I am currently investigating migrating an Oracle 8.1.7 database on an IBM MVS mainframe platform across to a Sun Solaris platform.

Does anyone know where I can obtain any documentation/information on the processes involved, and any pitfalls to be aware of?

Thanks

Alan

Hi,

Migrating data from Oracle on OS/390 to Solaris (or vice versa) is an easy process: Export the data, FTP the dump file to your target machine (binary mode), and import.

If you run into problems, please post them on the MVS Message Forum.

Best regards.
