hai all,
we want to use dataguard in our firm for that we have to find whether the dataguard is installed in the system or not.how to find out...?

OS --- UNIX
Oracle 9i

Hi,

You can use data guard after installing the Oracle Enterprise Edition software on your system.

To see if you have any established physical standby databases (from the primary), look for parameters LOG_ARCHIVE_DEST_n that archives to a remote SERVICE.

For more info, read the "Data Guard Concepts and Administration" Guide.

hai ,
thanks a lot for ur response.here we don't see the parameter like log_archive_dest_n in pfile.moreover when i entered DGMGRL> prompt and tried to use it , its blowing errors as follows

DGMGRL> connect system/complex
Connected.
Error:
ORA-00439: feature not enabled: Data Guard broker
ORA-06512: at "SYS.DBMS_DRS", line 48
ORA-06512: at line 2

what does it mean..?
how to come up..?
plz help out.
