hello\
i appreciate all the help i get here
the issue :
i have an oracle9i server on aix in archive log mode named A
i made a copy of this database on another aix server named B
i want periodically to apply the logs from database A
into database B
there is no connection in between the 2 databases for a standby database configuration
how to do that ?

If there is no network connection between machines A and B, how do you intend getting the logs from A to B? I guess you can always use a memory stick, but I'm sure you don't want to go there...

i will use a memory sticj or any disk to copy the logs ,
but what i mean is how to apply the logs on the second database,
isnt applying logs under recovery procedure only ?

You can always copy logs to the standby system manually, then execute "RECOVER MANAGED STANDBY DATABASE;" to apply them.

i can do that even when the destination database is not a standby database just a copy of the original ?

what is the procedure you followed to copy the database? do you have standby controlfile for sever B?
