Hi Navik,
All the standard open interface import programs do certain validations that meet almost all the requirements,
say,for instance, payables open interface import validates invoice number, invoice type, invoice amount, distribution line number and so on.
So in real time if i am assigned to prepare an interface program that would import invoice data from legacy system to Oracle APPS base tables: ap_invoices_all,ap_invoice_distributions_all,ap_payment_schedules_all,what are the things that i would be asked to validate?

How to gain knowledge regarding the above with reference to other modules interfaces also?

Hi,

Just to get idea about the interface you may read User Guide for that particular module.

For Order Management API and interface

Oracle Project

Hi Prashant,
Thanks for the info. What I wanted exactly was
1. "If you write an interface for loading invoices into Oracle Payables tables, what are the columns will you validate ?"
2. "What dictates the selection of columns for validation? Is it
the flat file (containing the data from legacy system)or
something else?"

Regards,
Rafeek.

It will depend on business requirement.

Hi,

It all depends on your business community.
What actually their requirements are?

But interestingly they want better exception handling reporting mechanism to inform production support guys.

Prashant
