If a account combination (01.101.04.000.0000)is already posted in my GL, and now this combination is invalid, how do I stop this account combination IN FUTURE USE
using 1)cross validation or 2)security rule OR 3)account-comibination (in GL).
KINDLY PLEASE ADVISE THE NAVIGATION AS WELL.

I don't have access to a system, so I can't give you the navigation, but I will do what I can to help.

First of all, Journal out any Actual balances on the account and remove any Budget balances too.

Next, identify the source of any ongoing postings to these accounts (allocations, recurring journals, blanket PO's etc) and update them with a valid Code Combination.

Next, enquire on the Account (Code Combination) and enter an End Date.

Now it will not be possible for anybody to update the Actual or Budget (without first removing the End Date).

Cool HTH
