Hii All

I am new in using oracle 10g
and my supervisor asked wants to work with this version (Oracle 10g Express Edition)

so

i want to have references on this Version

and have some questions

there is only one Alias database which is 'HR'
how can i create a new database ??

do i must be online on the internet to work 
as i think it create a session for me on the internet
and how can i work local??

does this version contain a developer tool??
and what is the development tool that is suitable for it??
and can i install oracle developer 10g and work beside it

where is the sql plus
I saw something like the command prompt

Pleas don't ignore my question
it may be simple but i really need answers

Hi,
there is only one Alias database which is 'HR'
HR is not DATABASE NAME it is SCHEMA/USER name or you can create your own schema/user.

how can i create a new database ??
You cann't create more than one database in ORACLE XE... when you install oracle XE it will create detault database name XE you can use that database.

You can work offline with ORACLE XE database.

where is the sql plus

You can check >>> start ---> program ----> Oracle XE ---> SQL COMMAND PROMPT

but i also want

if i can use a developer tool beside it
or it contain its developer (there is a tool of application builder but it is different from the developer that i usually work on it)
do i need to install oracle developer 10g

and also

how can i work offline??
i saw that when i login i must open a browser 
to connect and also to run the application and build an application

Hi.

The following link explain how to create a new database(different from default databes called XE) in Oracle XE.

It works out because I have to create a new database to project I'm working for...
