i have nevered configured Oracle dataguard Pls tell me the steps ,How i can configure oracle physical and standby database.

It was actually called just Standby Database in 8i (go figure, Oracle with their constant name changing), but you may want to review Oracle8i Standby Database Concepts and Administration.
