Are you looking to create a "test" database from your standby? If so, since the standby has a STANDBY CONTROLFILE, you can't just recover the standby database to be a "normal" (non-standby) database. You should generate a CONTROLFILE TO TRACE from the primary and use this control file with RESETLOGS and the files from the standby to recover the "test" database.

That'a absolutely correct. But My scenario is that i am taking a copy for complete structure including controlfiles,Redo logs after bringing down MRP.So once i bring down MRP and take backup it should be equivalent to cold backup. Then while i bringup database , as you said after recreating controlfile it should not ask for recovery as all the datafiles are pretty consistent as i took backup after bringing down MRP.But still it is asking for recovery. Why it is asking for recovery??Is there any SCN generation after MRP is down???

Because you are using a backup controlfile.

If all you are doing is shutting down your standby database and then copying the files to another location and then starting it up, then it's still technically a standby database, NOT what you are looking to accomplish as far as I can tell. If you want to do it right, perform the recovery as I mentioned above.
