Hi guys,
I m using Oracle Forms 6i and Oracle 10g Express Edition. I am having the following error message when I am trying to connect to the database from client.
I have dont following configuration in my client's FORM's TNSNAMES.ORA file.
----------------------------------------------------------------
0001 =
(DESCRIPTION =
(ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = bankvigil)(PORT = 1521))
(CONNECT_DATA = (SID = XE))
)
----------------------------------------------------------------
In the above configuration
0001 = my connect string.
BankVigil = My Oracle database server hostname.
Plz advice what seems to be the problem. I need the solution urgently.
Regards,
Azam Khan

This is my entry in 'tnsnames.ora'.
AXE_127.0.0.1 =
(DESCRIPTION =
(ADDRESS_LIST =
(ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = 127.0.0.1)(PORT = 1521))
)
(CONNECT_DATA = (SID = XE)(SERVER = DEDICATED))
) Try using a different name in your 'SID'.
